KAMPALA- The Electoral Commission has announced a revision in the display schedule of the National Voters Register, calling on all stakeholders to participate in the exercise.

The Electoral Commission Chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama issued a statement saying that the display exercise will now take place from April 25th to May 15th 2025, replacing the previously scheduled dates of April 17th to May 8th 2025.

In the statement issued April 14th 2025, the Electoral Commission has also adjusted the timeline for displaying Registers for Special Interest Groups, including the National Youth Voters’ Register, National PWDs Voters’ Register and National Older Persons Voters’ Register are from April 25th to May 8th 2025.

The update aims to enable eligible Ugandan citizens to register, transfer voting locations, or confirm their particulars in the voters’ register and Justice Byabakama Mugyenyi has urged all stakeholders to participate in the General Update exercise, following the guidelines that will be issued for the exercise.

Meantime, the NRM Secretary General Todwong meets the Ambassador of The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

‎The NRM Secretary-General, Hon. Richard Todwong has held talks with the Ambassador of The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to Uganda, Her Excellency Etsegenet Bezabih Yimenu.

The cordial meeting took place at National Resistance Movement headquarters at Plot 10, Kyadondo Road in Kampala.

‎The bilateral discussions between Hon Todwong and Bezabih Yimenu highlighted the commitment of both parties to continue collaborating on various fronts, including politics, trade, and cultural exchange between Uganda and Ethiopia.

During the meeting ‎Hon Todwong said that Uganda cherish treasured historical ties and mutual relations between the people of Ethiopia and Uganda and added that Ethiopia and Uganda have a long history of advocating for the self-determined of the people of Africa from the Western colonial masters and have continued to strive for the continent’s prosperity.‎

Hon Todwong was flanked by the Director of External Affairs Maj Awich Poller, the Director of Communication Hon Emmanuel Dombo and the Director of Youth and Institutions Maj Okwir Rabwoni.
