Emmanuel Masesane

NEWS- As 2026, the year of local and national elections draws nearer, Kampala City Businessman Mugisha Emmanuel Masesane has declared his interest in running for Kanungu District leadership as LC5 Chairperson.

While addressing the meduain Kampala, Masesane said, he was compelled to contest for the seat to unite the people of Kanungu district for a common development agenda.

“I am passionate about service delivery. I love team work, development, accountability and consultative leadership. My goal is to have a district that belongs to all of us.” Masesane said.

Formerly an Assistant Academic Registrar in the College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences and College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT) at Makerere University, Masesane promised to unite the people of Kanungu district with inclusive leadership.

“I hate service delivery based on religion, political party or tribe. We must know that we are Ugandans first. Development should reach all people whether lame, blind, educated, no educated, Catholic, Anglican, Pentecostal, Moslem, Seventh Day Adventist and even to pagans by the way.” Masesane said.

He informed the journalists that he will soon be releasing the roadmap, manifesto and campaign team for his election but revealed that he is contesting on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party adding that his leadership will focus on serving all political parties.

Masesane further said, “I have not yet heard of anyone contesting for the LC 5 Seat. What I only heard is that the incumbent District Chairperson is seeking another Office. To me, this is my time to render my service to Kanungu District as LC 5 Chairperson. I appeal to all of you for your support”.

Mugisha Emmanuel Masesane is born in Rugari Cell, Central Ward in Kambuga Town Council in Kanungu District to the Late Stephano and the Late Maria Masesane.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Management from Makerere University and a Diploma in Law from the Law Development Centre in Kampala and is currently a Private Consultant on leadership development in Kampala.
