KAMPALA- The electricity regulatory authority (ERA) has announced new electricity tariff for the year 2025. These are tariffs for the first quarter (January to March ) of 2025.
Among the tariffs,the life line tariff will cost Ush 250 per unit for qualifying domestic consumers, The domestic tariff will cost Ush 775.7 per unit for other domestic consumers.
Commercial tariff will cost Ush 575.2 per unit while medium industrial tariffs for manufacturing will cost Ush 417.8 per unit while for the service Ush will cost 434.5 per unit.
For the large industrial tariffs manufacturing will cost Ush 351.5 per unit while service will cost Ush 367.1 per unit.
For the extra large industrial tariffs will cost Ush 299.1 per unit while for the public amenities tariff will cost Ush 360.0 per unit.
These tariffs represent a weighted average reduction of 5.2% compared to the tariffs of quarter 4 of year 2024,reducing the cost of delivery electricity services by Ush . 155bn.
This has been announced by Dr Sarah Kanaabi Wasagali,the chairperson of electricity regulatory authority while addressing media today at media centre.
