KASESE– The Rwenzori Sub-region FDC chairperson Mr. Saul Maate has condemned the conduct that police used while arresting the ‘March to Parliament’ protestors in Kampala.
According to Mr. Maate women are not supposed to be handled by men instead they would have also deployed army women officers to handle their fellows not being handled by men.
He made the remarks today morning at a press conference held at Rwenzori Restaurant in Kasese Town.
Yesterday at least 20 activists were arrested during the ‘March to Parliament’ protests in Kampala.
Some of the activists include Human rights lawyer, Mr. Eriah Nuwenuwe. He was intercepted from the boundaries of Parliament.
Faiza Fabz, a talk show host at Kfm and blogger Benard Ewalu Olupot aka Beewol were found at Oasis Mall.
The youth are calling for the resignation of the top leadership of Parliament and reduction of lawmakers’ salaries and allowances.
Mr. Maate says the youth are very right to condemn the corruption scandals in the country since they are on increase.
