KAMPALA- The Director of Public Prosecutions has withdrawn murder charges against Milly Naluwenda; the Kisekwa secretary who had been implicated in the gruesome murder of the Ndiga Clan head Eng Kakeedo Bbosa.
Naluwenda has spent eight months in prison having been arrested immediately after Eng. Kakeedo’s murder in February this year.
Today as Naluwenda and 5 others re-appeared before the Nateete/ Rubaga court for an update on police investigations, chief state Attorney Liliian Omara presented a withdrawal letter dated 23rd/ October indicating that the state had lost interest in prosecuting Naluweds for Eng. Kakeedo’s murder .
However the DPP has given no reason for discontinuing proceedings against Naluwenda but the decision has left court with no option other than discharging Naluwenda.
After discharging Naluwenda, Omara presented committal papers sending the 5 remaining suspects to the High court for trial.
The committal papers further contain a summary of DPP’s evidence against the 5 including 4 siblings and their nephew.
The suspects are ; Lugya Tabula , Nakiguli Harriet , Nakabale Joseph, Ezra Mayanja , Lugya Noah and are jointly charged Eng Kakeedo’s murder of 25th/ February 2024 at Lungujja Kikandwa village.

That after the said murder , the assailants fled the scene using the same motocycle but angry residents pursued them, lynched one other who was later identified as Enock Sserunkuuma alias Munaku and rescued another Lugya Noah alias Ffeke from the angry mob .
That an Ak 47 gun , a mobile phone and a bag were recovered from the two assailants and later the body of the murdered Eng Kakeedo was conveyed to Mulago hospital where a postmoterm was carried out and the cause of death was established as gunshot wounds.
The DPP further states that she will adduce evidence that all the 5 suspects are from Nidga clan and acted with a common intention to murder Eng Kakeedo whom they accused of not being the rightful head of the Ndiga Clan.
The court presided over by Grade one magistrate Adams Byarugaba has heard that the DPP will rely on over 25 exbhits including CCtv footage showing that the assailants trailing Eng Kakeedo on a mortocycle , phone call data records that show constant communication between the accused shortly before the murder , a gun that was provided by Tabula Lugya and video clip showing Tabula admitting phblicaly to orchestrate the murder.
