NEWS- As the Country continues to grapple with poor service delivery in some areas, all mess attributed to the current leadership by the citizens and as drums begin to bang for the 2026 general elections, the Former FDC Western Youth MP Aspirant Hon Aliban Rukundo has expressed interest to contest for the Rubabo County Parliamentary seat.
Located in Rukungiri district, the seat is currently being held by a fellow Forum for Democratic Change Member Hon Naboth Namanya who trounced National Resistance Movement’s Hon Mary Paula Turyahikayo in 2021 General elections.
Youthful Rukundo who is much into Education believes that his tenure put much emphasis on the education sector stressing that it’s the only way to go if this country is to take a positive stride.
Being an Admissions officer at Kampala University, Rukundo believes that he will prioritize lobbying for bursary opportunities for his Constituents’ children so that they can attain the education they deserve.
“Our Children Must Study, given the chance that I will be their Member of Parliament in 2026. I have a lot to do for my people like I said I am the Admissions officer for Kampala University, I have the capacity to ensure that a good number of Rubabo constituents benefit from all the available schemes. We all know Education is the key to Success” he pointed out.
Aliban who’s been in the Forum for Democratic Change since his childhood is optimistic that he won’t rest until the Ugandan Dictator is out of power and promises to treat every factor with the concept it deserves to make sure the Dictator doesn’t lead the country in the incoming Elections.
“I want to take this opportunity to announce that I will contest as the member Parliament for Rubabo County come 2026 General Elections and I promise you that I will execute my roles as a Member of Parliament including Legislation, Budget Approval/ Appropriation, Oversight and representation” he asserted.
With a great Team behind him, Rukundo believes that he will deliver good results in serving the people that will have voted him as well as finishing up the pending works and pending programs.
WHOS IS RUKUNDO ALIBAN?
Ampurire Aliban Rukundo is a 29-year-Old man, born from a Christian family of Mr. Rukundo Benson and Mrs. Kyobutungi Margret, in Rugyendwa village, Kyamakanda parish, Buyanja Sub County in Rukungiri District.
He started school in 1999 at Kyamakanda church of Uganda for his Nursery, and Later joined Kyamakanda Primary School where he started his primary one up to primary Seven. After Primary level, Aliban joined Kyamakanda Secondary School for his O’level academics before joining Buyanja Grammar School to attain his Advanced Level education.
From Buyanja Grammar, he joined Kampala University where he studied Computer Science and Information Technology in addition to a number of other certificates he holds including a one in Career Guidance & Counseling, another one in Entrepreneurship skills, a Certificate in school based Counseling for Enhanced Teaching, A certificate in interview skills and workplace skills.
He also holds a Certificate in Leadership Skills Management skills and public Speaking Skills, a certificate in ICT Skills Training Curriculum, Computer Applications, Hardware & Software management and Harnessing the internet at Stratcom company Uganda) as well as a Certificate in CNNA.
Aliban Rukundo has taught ICT skills in different Schools including Buyanja Grammar, Hermitage Community Secondary and vocational center Luweero, Sureland Academy Luweero, Kyalugondo SS Luweero, Sabra High School Wakiso and Brilliant High School Luweero and is currently working at Kampala university as an Admissions officer.
Aliban Rukundo Contested for Western Youths MP in the 2021 Forum for Democratic Change Primary Elections although he lost it to Hon Denmark Adios whom he supported during his Campaign. More so, he campaigned for the Rubabo County Legislator Hon. Namanya Naboth in 2021 General Elections. Aliban kept his zeal in drumming support for FDC and he is amongst the Strong FDC Youth mobilizer in Rukungiri District.
