KABALE– The late Bernard Byamukama, former leader of the Kikungiri Archdeaconry Runyankore Rukiga Choir and Chairperson of Nyakiharo Village, has been laid to rest at his home in Mwanjari Ward, Southern Division, Kabale Municipality. Byamukama, 70 years old is survived by a widow Christine Byamukama, and six children (three girls and three boys).
During the funeral service held at Kikungiri Archdeaconry, Bishop Gaddie Akajuna of the Diocese of Kigezi described the late Byamukama as someone who loved and supported church activities, good timekeeper and loved singing.
He preached a message of love and unity among Christians.

The Former Prime Minister, Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, represented by Kabale District Woman MP Hon. Catherine Ndamira, described the late Byamukama as a vital asset to the church, family and community.
Rugunda noted that his departure leaves a gap in the church and community.

The Kabale Municipality Mayor Emmanuel Byamugisha Sentaro and Kabale District Woman MP Hon. Catherine Ndamira described the late Byamukama as a person who supported development in his area and was a leader who did not segregate people regardless of status, region or nationality.

Rev. Fr. Austin Christmas, Parish Priest of Rushoroza Cathedral, described the late Byamukama a person who promoted unity between the Catholic and Anglican faiths.
