KAMPALA- Four People have been remanded to Luzira prison on charges murdering Tugume Albert Cook Apuuli; a mobile money Agent and brother to deputy Lord Mayor Doreen Nyanjura .
The assailants are ; Jimmy Mutagubya ; a 27 year old Boda-boda rider of Nsibi- ziwome , Kayenmba Bosco ; a 47 year old builder of Kawanda Nakyesanjje , Suuna Hamza and Makanga Marvin both unemployed youths of Mperwerwe and Maganjo respectively.
Prosecution states that on 21st November 2024 at Kiwatule Central Zone in Kampala district, the 4 accused attacked Tugume and robbed him of a bag containing an unspecified amount of money and mobile banking gadgets before turning unto him a gun and shot him instantly.
Prosecution further states that the 4 on the same date and place also used the same gun to murder Barnabas Sabiti; a boda-boda rider.
The 4 have been arraigned before the Kampala City Hall court presided over by Grade one magistrate Aisu Nicholas.
They have however been prevented from pleading to the capital offences of murder and aggravated robbery before the magistrates Court as such cases are triable by the High court .
The suspects have been remanded to Luzira prison as police investigations continue to arrest Kabuye Hussein, Babaidha Joseph and Lukenge Martin who are still at large.
In a document seen signed by a Deputy KMP spot Luke Owoyesigire, The Uganda Police has appealed to the public to give any information leading to the arrest of the trio.
