KAMPALA– The National Unity platform-NUP president, Robert Kyagulalanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine graduates with a bachelor of laws degree from Cavendish university after 7-year journey marked with challenges.
The music star turned politician has said that he has overcome alleged attempts to sabotage his academic milestone.
Kyagulanyi has told Journalists at the 13th graduation ceremony of Cavendish held in Munyonyo, that detractors attempted to sabotage his graduation, by petitioning the National Council for Higher Education.
“Upon announcing my upcoming graduation, detractors sprag into action, attempting to thwart my achievement. Astonishingly, some individuals, allegedly linked to the regime, even petitioned the National Council for Higher Education in a bid to block my degree.” Kyagulanyi has said.
He has further alleged that his degree award was uncertain after the NCHE officials scrutinized his academic record, demanding for his application forms, admission letter, class attendance records l, course works and tuition payment records.
“It is after a very detailed and intense investigation that I was cleared to graduate today. I don’t know if any other Ugandan students have been subjected to this before. “Kyagulanyi said.
His supporters have praised his resilience as he gains new tools to challenge injustices and promote the rule of law.

Former Nigerian President, H.E. Goodluck Jonathan, who is also the University Chancellor, has presided over the function which saw Bobi and 650 other graduands passed out in different programmes.
