Kabale District Deputy Speaker Mugisha Ian Ronald and his fiancée Nabimanya Reacheal

KABALE- Christians have been challenged to invite Jesus Christ into their homes for the betterment of their families. This challenge was sounded by Rt. Rev. Emeritus Bishop George Katwesigye on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the wedding ceremony of Kabale District Deputy Speaker Mugisha Ian Ronald and his fiancée Nabimanya Reacheal at Kikuniri Archdeaconry in Southern Division, Kabale Municipality.

In his sermon, Emeritus Bishop George Katwesigye expressed concern about the behavior of some Christians, who often get drunk and engage in fights at wedding parties instead of glorifying God’s name. He urged Christians to celebrate with joy and peace, which would contribute to the betterment of their communities and families.

Bishop Katwesigye, who previously served as the Bishop of Kigezi Diocese, also cautioned Christians against being overcome by earthly pressures. He advised the newlywed couple, Mugisha Ian and Reacheal, to safeguard their marriage by not allowing outsiders to enter their bedroom, except for Jesus Christ.

At the wedding reception held at Palm Valley Gardens in Mwanjari Ward, Southern Division, Kabale Municipality, Ninsiima Evelyn Kikafunda, President of Green Environment Promotion, encouraged women to obey their husbands for the betterment of their families. Kikafunda, who is also vying for the Rubanda District Woman MP seat in 2026, emphasized the importance of communication in marriage. However, she warned the Kabale Deputy Speaker against mixing family issues with politics.

Kabale District Woman MP Hon. Atwakiire Catherine Ndamira took the opportunity to condemn the practice of homosexuality, stating that it is destructive to the youth who engage in it for financial gain.

Ndorwa East MP Hon. Wilfred Niwagaba and State Minister for Finance (General Duties) Hon. Henry Musasizi Ariganyira commended Kabale District Deputy Speaker Mugisha Ian for his effective leadership of the council, unlike some other districts that experience infighting among councilors and the council at large.

Counsel Eliab Naturinda declared his intention to challenge State Minister for Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives David Bahati. He assured the public that no one could persuade him to withdraw from the race.

In his speech, Kabale Deputy Speaker Mugisha Ian expressed gratitude to Rubanda District Local Government led by District Chairperson Mr. Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba, Kabale District Local Government led by Nelson Nshangabasheija, and other individuals who contributed to the success of the wedding ceremony.

Other dignitaries in attendance included Rubanda District LC5 Chairperson Mr. Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba, Kabale District councilors, Sam Arineitwe, LC3 Chairman for Kabale Central Division, and Kabale District aspirant MPs Trust Kyomugisha and Immaculate Kagwa Nyemera.
