KAMPALA– The Patriotic League of Uganda National Vice Chairman in Central Buganda, Frank Gashumba has written a strong 2 page letter responding to a letter issued by Hon. Micheal Mawanda, the PLU Disciplinary Chairperson over the his social media conduct.
Mawanda who along with Gashumba both sit on PLU’s National Executive Council wrote to Gashumba summoning him to explain over his post on social media which the group perceived as a “public attack” on its Chairman and Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
Mawanda who is also the Igara East Member of Parliament informed Gashumba to attend a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday afternoon at the Patriotic League of Uganda Secretariat along Saddler Lane in Naguru without fail.
However, Gashumba responded saying the manner in which he was summarily summoned to appear before the disciplinary committee speaks volumes about the level of disrespect and total disregard he has towards him.
Gashumba, who is widely known for his political controversy used the Group Headed Letter stressing that he was shocked that Mawanda, who purports to be a leader, is more preoccupied with the fact that he spoke out about the security threats posed by criminal gangs terrorizing Ugandans, instead of being concerned about the problem of urban criminality and insecurity facing Ugandans.
Gashumba defended himself further noting that his post was addressed to the leadership of the entire security apparatus and not to the leadership of Patriotic League of Uganda and that if he was to be summoned for disciplinary proceedings, it should have been the Chief of Defence Forces or the Inspector General of Police to summon him, but not Mawanda.
Here below is the letter Gashumba wrote to Hon Mawanda.
