Kainerugaba at the to pass out the trainees at Uganda Airforce College

The Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has praised the significant strides made by the UPDF Air Force during a graduation ceremony at the Uganda Air Force College.

While reflecting on its the UPDF Airfoce evolution, the Chief of Defence Forces noted that what began as a guerrilla force without an air capability is now transforming into one of Africa’s most promising air forces.

Addressing the graduates, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba emphasized the importance of excellence, urging pilots to master every aspect of their aircraft and challenging them to rank among the best on the continent.

During the event, over 500 trainees graduated, including pilots, pilot instructors, aircraft operators, and engineers, all now equipped to contribute to the UPDF’s professionalization drive.

The Chief of Defence Forces reiterated his warning against misuse of UPDF funds, noting that there will be no mercy for the corrupt, a statement met with applause from guests and graduates and on top of passing out the students, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba also commissioned several infrastructure projects and housing units for the soldiers.

While speaking at the same function, Commander of the Air Force Lt Gen Charles Okidi, thanked the Chief of Defenve Forces for his leadership in advancing Uganda’s air capabilities.

The Commandant of the Uganda Air Force College, Brig James Muhwezi highlighted the graduates’ readiness to serve and acknowledged the CDF’s support in infrastructure development at the training facility.
