NEWS– Evelyne Ninsiima Kikafunda, the President of the Green Environment Program, has restored the lost hopes of a 50-year-old blind man, Jack Tumukwasibwe, who has been battling hernia since birth.
Tumukwasibwe, a teacher at Kisoro Demonstration Primary School and a resident of Kifurugutu Village, Kyigyeyo Ward, Rubanda Town Council, Rubanda District, was born blind and developed hernia at a young age.
After being told by doctors at St. Francis Hospital Mutolere in Kisoro District that he needed to pay Ugx 1.5 million for surgery, Tumukwasibwe lost hope. However, his fortunes changed when he met Evelyne Ninsiima Kikafunda at a burial ceremony in Muko Sub County last year and she pledged to assist him.
Tumukwasibwe underwent a successful surgery at Muko Health Center IV, courtesy of a medical health surgical camp organized by Mission to Heal, which was also lobbied by Evelyne Ninsiima Kikafunda. Over 60 people benefited from the free surgical operations, which took place from Monday to Friday.
