NEWS– The High Court sitting in Kampala has granted cash bail of Ugx 2 million each to 4 individuals accused of tampering with evidence in the murder case of the late city businessman Henry Katanga.
The suspects, include Patricia Kakwanza and Martha Nkwanzi Katanga, who are both daughters of the deceased, along with Dr Charles Otai and domestic worker George Amanyire, were released today morning after a successful bail application at the High Court in Kampala.
The legal representative for the accused, Jet Tumwebaze of Kampala Associated Advocates, reported that they had faced numerous attempts before finally securing bail on the 15th trial.
Notably, the main suspect in the murder case, Molly Katanga, the mother of the two daughters, remains incarcerated at Luzira Prison as her bail application is still pending.
Molly is facing charges related to the murder of her husband, Henry Katanga, which occurred on November 2nd 2023, at their residence in Mbuya near Kampala suburb.
The fatal incident transpired following an altercation between Henry Katanga and his wife who was charged with her husband’s murder, was subsequently admitted to IHK with severe injuries, allegedly sustained during the intense confrontation with the deceased.
