The former Kanungu District Woman Parliamentary contestant Betty Namara Kataba has called on the media fraternity to he cautious on what they publish and avoid destroying the reputation of some personalities because it has taken them long to build such reputation.
Ms Namara Kataba made the remarks yesterday while officiating at the launch of Kigezi Innovation Hub a brainchild of High Five Radio which took place at Kihihi Town Council Hall in Kanungu District where she noted tgat that some people have not taken into account what they publish and share on social media.

She said that during the campaign, some members of the public targeted her and published unsubstantiated information about her which became a tool to decampain her which was wrong.
“Aspire to give information which is factual and true and avoid sentimental and false information that spoils reputation of others,” Ms Betty Namara Kataba emphasised.
She however hailed the founder and Chief Executive Officer of High Five Digital Communications Sharrif Akankwasa whose innovative skills have birthed Hii 5 Radio and Kigezi Innovation Hub which will go along way in transforming the community.

“Innovation is important and it contributes to growth, i encouraged you to business software that you can share with others, develop websites and hosting them,” She said.
She also asked them to look at challenges and think about solutions with a mindset change because the digital world is fast changing and needs people who can adapt to it and advised that he should put business that can be managed even in his absence but can easily be managed and supervised.
Ms Betty Namara Kataba accepted a request from High Five Digital Communications management to become their Patron and pledged that their partnership is just a beginning that will take them to greater heights.
While speaking at the same event, Akankwasa revealed that started High Five Digital Communications to empower the digital future of Kigezi and will offer free computer training to students at zero cost to ensure that they benefit.
He said that the Kigezi Innovation Hub aims at training Young people in digital skills, AI coding and building the digital future of Kigezi.
The launch was also attended by Uganda National Students Association Coordinator for Kanungu District Sheilla Kyasiimire who pledged to partner with Kigezi Innovation Hub to establish ICT clubs in schools to enable the students master skills in software and so far 500 youth have trained , 20 schools reached, 10 programs developed and 300 innovations made.
Through Kigezi Innovation Hub, Akankwasa intends to design websites free for schools aimed at providing learning portals for students in Kanungu..
