KIGEZI- The Police in Rukiga District have registered a case of arson and malicious damage of property that took place in Mahura cell in Nyakashebeya Parish in Kashambya Subcounty which was reported by Turinawe Jane.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident which followed the suspected murder of Atwebembere Christopher Sadam on the 15th April 2025.
Maate explained that four suspects had been arrested who included Tumwijukye Denis, Nasasira Danson, Mwesigwa Alyson and Turyasima Denis.
Maate said that Police Detectives from Rukiga Police station on Friday went to the crime scene with the suspects where the mother of Tumwijukye Denis one of the suspect opened the house of the suspect.
A search was conducted and two plastic chairs were recovered with blood strains and a search certificate was witnessed by Twinomujuni Francis the brother of the deceased.
After police detectives had left the crime scene, the relatives of deceased, Atwebembere attacked the home of the suspect Tumwijukye, burnt the house and slashed his banana plantation.
The act prompted the Police officers from Rukiga Police station with Scene of Crime Officer to visit the crime scene and documented it as investigations continue but no arrests were made.
