NEWS– The Inspector General of Police Abas Byakagaba has visited the Criminal Investigations Directorate CID headquarters.
Byakagaba who took a guided tour around the Directorate appreciated the several capabilities being developed by the directorate that will soon be availed to the public.
IGP Abas also expressed appreciation to the CID team led by Assistant Inspector General of Police Tom Magambo for improving both the work environment and personnel.
IGP highlighted the CID’s role as the backbone of the police stressing the importance of planning, patience, teamwork, and a zero-tolerance approach to corruption while also emphasizing policing at the sub-county level.
He committed to supporting capability building and welfare as well as recognizing commendable efforts.
Additionally during his maiden visit, the IGP planted a memorable tree.
