KAMPALA- Hearing of Henry Katanga murder trial flopped, after a full month adjournment due to poor Internet connection that could not link key suspect Molly Katanga from Luzira Women’s prison.
But prosecution was prepared to present its 7th witness; 48 year old Richard Ambayo; pathologists who is believed to have examined the body of the late Katanga.
This has forced trial judge Isaac Muwata to adjourn the hearing of this case tomorrow with hope that the technical problems would have been sorted out.
Katanga’s widow, Molly desired to be tried on zoom from Luzira women’s prison citing mobility issues she encounters during her physical appearances in court since she uses a wheel chair.
Court then granted her application and allowed her follow the proceedings via Zoom.
Molly Katanga is jointly charged with her 2 daughters, Martha Nkwanzi and Patricia Kakwanzi for the murder and being accessories after the murder of the family’s patriarch Henry Katanga on 2nd / November 2022.
The family members are further charged alongside the shamba boy George Amanyiire and a nursing officer Charles Otai. The 4 are out on bail while Molly’s was denied by court on 2 occasions.
