Addressing attendants, RDC Nyakahuma highlighted that despite previous exclusions of Local Council leaders from the program due to directives discouraging civil and public servants’ participation, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has instructed the inclusion of LC One and Two leaders.

President Museveni emphasized the importance of Local Council leaders as role models within their communities and urged their active involvement in government programs.

Nyakahuma emphasized the significance of Local Council leaders in utilizing PDM initiatives effectively, citing it as a means to inspire community members to follow suit.

He assured the gathered LC leaders that they would be included in the upcoming disbursement of PDM funds scheduled for June. Under this initiative, the government plans to allocate 100 million Ugandan Shillings to each parish across the country, with each beneficiary receiving 1 million Ugandan Shillings.

The inclusion of Local Council One and Two leaders in the PDM program signifies a commitment to grassroots development and community engagement, with hopes of fostering greater participation and ownership of government initiatives at the local level.
