Journalists cleaning Kabale Town

NEWS- Preparations for World Press Freedom Day scheduled to take place on Friday 3rd May 2024 in Kabale Municipal Stadium for Media Practitioners from Kabale District on Thursday started with cleaning of Kabale Municipality Town.

The Media Practitioners from Kabale District Were Joined by Sam Arineitwe Who is the chairman Central Division, Kabale District Deputy Speaker Mugisha Ronald Ian (coach Barca), Kabale Police, students from Bishop Barham and Kabale Universities.

They started at Highland along Kabale Kisoro Road, Nyerere Road, Kabale Owino and Central Market before proceeding to Kigonji.

Speaking to our reporter after the cleaning Exercise, Job Namanya, Journalist attached to Vision group who is the chairperson Organizing committee for world Press freedom Day said that cleaning kabale Municipality has been in relation to the theme for this year’s world press freedom celebrations “A press for the planet, Journalism in the face of the Environment Planate.

He added that tomorrow they will be planting Trees in Kabale Town to preserve the Ecosystem and will also have a media friendly match between Journalists from Kisoro and Sheema.

Esther Kukundakwe, the chairperson of Kabale Media Practitioners Association said they decided to clean the town as an example for the public in cleaning and preserving the environment.

The Central Division LC3 chairman Sam Arineitwe appreciated media Practitioners for priotising town cleaning among their Activities.

The Kigezi region Police spokesperson Asp Elly Maate said that security is on high alert calling everyone to Participate in the celebrations.
