NEWS– The Police in Kabale District are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of Silvano Bikorwomuhangi whose body was recovered along the path to his home.

Kigezi Region Police Spokesman ASP Elly Maate told journalists that the incident is alleged to have occurred on the 6th May 2025, during the night, at Bugo village in Musamba Parish in Rubaya Sub-county in Kabale District.

Maate explained that it’s alleged that, the deceased went and participated in the NRM election exercise and he voted for Turyazayo Wilber who was contesting with Tumwijukye Henry for the post of LC I Chairman flag bearer in which Turyazayo Wilber won.

After the elections, the deceased is reported to have gone with other voters to Musamba Trading Centre for celebrations but never returned back home until today May 7th morning when his lifeless body was found lying along the foot path to his second wife’s home by the locals who informed the area leaders and the matter was reported to Rubaya Police Station by Monday the chairperson LC 2 Chairman of Masamba Parish only identified as Monday.

Maate explained that a case file of suspected murder was opened for investigations, the scene of crime was visited, processed and documented by a team led by the acting District CID Kabale and relevant statements were obtained from witnesses and three  people whose names were not revealed, have been arrested to assist in Investigations.

Maate explained that the body of the deceased was examined and a postmortem examination carried out and handed over to relatives for burial, but he called on anyone with information that can lead to the perpetrators to volunteer it so that they are held according to the laws.
