KAGADI– The management of Kagadi general Hospital has reassured the public that the recently donated Buyaga West Ambulance will not be recalled to Kampala, dispelling rumors circulating on social media.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with our reporter, Dr. Julius Birungi, the Medical Superintendent of Kagadi Hospital, confirmed that the ambulance will remain stationed at Kagadi Hospital.
Concerns had arisen after reports suggested that the Ministry of Health intended to take the ambulance back to Kampala for full equipment installation, as some components were missing at the time of its official handover by President Yoweri Museveni.
Dr. Birungi clarified that during a meeting with district officials, it was resolved that the missing equipment would be installed at Kagadi Hospital rather than risk sending the ambulance back to Kampala, with fears that it might not return.

Dr.Birungi emphasized that although the ambulance was donated specifically for Buyaga West during an event at Kahunde playground, it will also be used for emergency cases from Buyaga East until another ambulance is secured for that area.
However, Dr. Birungi noted that due to the hospital’s limited budget, patients may sometimes be required to contribute to fuel costs when using the ambulance.
