NEWS– Shock last week engulfed Mitooma district as a 45 year old businessman Emmanuel Nshimeyimana, a resident of Nyamwegabira village, Rubumba Parish, Nkoko Sub County in Kakumiro District died in one of the witchdoctor’s shrine.
The incident according to the Greater Bushenyi regional Police spokesman SSP Marcial Tumusiime happened in Butagatsi village, Mushunga Parish, Mitooma Sub County, Mitooma District.
It’s alleged that on 3rd July 2024, the deceased left his home in Kakumiro District together with his wife, Ruth Muhairwe, riding on a boda boda registration number UFV 524 Q.
The duo, together with Patrick Mukiisa, came to Mitooma to seek help from traditional healers to track people who had broken into their shop.
Tumusiime adds that they ended up at the home of Kabyogamu, a known conman, who administered a drink that intoxicated the deceased after taking 500,000 from him. The deceased then died in a second house also belonging to the witch doctor.
Venensio Kansiiime, 56, Chairman LCI of Ruti 1 village, Ward I Kashenshero Town Council, said the body was picked from the house by accomplices of Kabyogamu, loaded onto a motor vehicle with registration number UAK 393 T, and dumped in Kashenshero Sub County.
Tumusiime said the body was recovered from Ruti, where it had been dumped, and delivered to Kitagata Hospital mortuary in Sheema District for a postmortem report.
