NEWS- Kanungu District has been confirmed to host the International Community of Banyakigezi convention from 27th -29th December 2024 and it will be held under the theme, “Building Partnerships for Social Economic Transformation”.
Hon Jacqueline Kyatuheire has been appointed as the Coordinator for the Convention and was confirmed during the July 2024 Uganda ICOB chapter meeting and subsequently she used the opportunity at ICOB meeting in London to invite the International Diaspora to come and grace this event.
“This will be an event of all times and the will be a remarkable gathering, celebrating the rich heritage, fostering unity, and showcasing the warmth and hospitality that Kanungu is known for” Hon Kyatuheire reiterated.
While in London, Hon Kyatuheire emphasized that Banyakigezi back home will be eager to welcome all those in the diaspora to experience the cultural splendor, scenic beauty and dynamic spirit of beloved Kanungu District.
A maiden preparatory meeting was September 24th 2024, held at Hotel Africana and Hon Kyatuheire told the participants that the concluded ICOB convention in London 25th -29th July 2024, was a great success with focus and determination, where they drew great of inspiration and optimism on great progresses to be undertaken.
During the Hotel Africana meeting, Hon Kyatuheire announced the proposed working committee that will be put in place to ensure that the forth coming Convention in Kanungu District becomes a success.
The proposed committees include Health, Tourism & Cultural Heritage, Environmental Protection, Socio Economic Transformation, Sports, Awards/Recognition, Entertainment, Security and Media and Advocacy.
