NEWS- The Police in Kanungu District are investigating circumstances under which a yet to be identified woman and her baby were murdered and their bodies abandoned on the roadside near Ntabagwe Church of Uganda in Kihembe Sub County.
Kanungu Deputy Resident District Commissioner Gad Ahimbisibwe Rugaju has confirmed the incident stressing that the bodies were retrieved by the Police and conveyed them to Kihihi Health Centre IV Mortuary awaiting postmortem examination and identification.
When contacted, the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman ASP Elly Maate did not respond to numerous calls made by our reporter about the incident and this has led to describing the murder as mysterious and most foul
The eye witnesses who talked to our reporter said that the victims could have been killed from somewhere and their bodies brought and dropped at the scene. This remains a developing story and details will be availed when the Police releases an official report.
