
NEWS– Kanungu Resident District Commissioner Ambrose Mwesigye Amanyire has thanked the UPDF, the Uganda Police and other security organization for their sacrifice in the strugle for freedom, democracy and social economic transformation.
RDC Mwesigye Amanyire made the remarks when he joined the UPDF parade in Kihihi Town Council that was part of this year Tarehe Sita celebrations which will climax tomorrow 6th February 2025 and national celebrations will be hosted by Kyotera District.
The Resident District Commissioner said that the celebrations are reminds the peoople the pan african solidality and the peoples sacrifice in the strugle for freedom and encouraged all security organisation to also participate in governament programmes in incorparating day to day life as civilian as they prepare for their retirement.
While speaking at the same event, the 307 UPDF Infantry Brigade Commander Lt Col Robert Nahamya explained that the Army match around Kihihi Town Council was a sign reflecting the journey of the NRA/UPDF from the time they attacked Kabamba to liberate the country.
The occasion was graced by Bishop Silus Tushabeomwe who called for love and unity among security organs and the locals as the country heads for the general elections.
The UPDF from 307 Brigade based at Mburameizi marched through Kihihi Town Council streets as a reminder that they are people’s Army and ready to protect them.
