Busingye and his brand new car

RUKUNGIRI- Ven. James Busingye, the outgoing Archdeacon of Kashenyi Archdeaconry in Ruhinda sub county Rukungiri district has bid farewell to Christians in a colorful ceremony where he was rewarded with a brand new car Toyota fielder UBS 680 A as a sign of appreciation.

Busingye has been serving as the Archdeacon of Kashenyi for a period of six years up to when he clocked the mandatory retirement age of 65 years as per the constitution of the church of Uganda.

He hailed Christians from both Kampala and Ruhinda, lay leaders and clergy for supporting his programs, saying he couldn’t achieve much without their input and asked them to also cooperate with the new Archdeacon Rev. Edson Muhirwe.

Ven. Ronald Natuhwera, the newly appointed Archdeacon of Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry while preaching at the ceremony, thanked Christians of Kashenyi for working closely together with Busingye up to the time of his retirement.

Natuhwera added that leading people in church is not easy but serving and retiring honorably is by God’s Grace.

Canon Ben Turamye the chief executive officer at the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority PPDA who also serves as the Development Officer of Kashenyi Archdeaconry, who was the day’s guest of Honor commended the good work and Development done by their retiring Archdeacon Busingye in the 6 years he had served in their church.

Turamye hailed Christians of Kashenyi Archdeaconry Kampala chapter and all Christians under Kashenyi Archdeaconry for uniting and raising over Ugx 36 million to purchase a vehicle to bid farewell to their Archdeacon.

Turamye added that due to the fact that retiring church leaders don’t have pension, he will be giving him monthly fuel and service the car for a period of one year.
