NEWS– Katuna Town Council’s Mukaragye ward residents have decred the lack of a health center, which puts expectant mothers’ lives at risk.
The residents raised an alarm about the long distances they travel to nearby health centers in Kamuganguzi, putting the lives of expectant mothers at risk.
During a piggery distribution exercise by the Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Atwakiire Catherine Ndamira, residents led by Batarinjuna Alfred, chairperson of Hakabungo cell, expressed their concerns stating that Mukaragye ward, which has six villages, finds it stressful to live due to lack of a health center facility, and the few private clinics in the ward are substandard on top of lacking essential medicines.
Mr. Batarinjuna added that traveling from Mukaragye ward to Kamuganguzi by motorcycle costs Ugx 10,000 a burden for low-income earners.
