Hajjati Sauda Nakanwagi, the Kihihi Muslim Senior Secondary School Headteacher confers with Kanungu District Woman Member of Parliament Hon Patience Kinshaba Nkunda

KANUNGU- Kihihi Muslim Senior Secondary School has emerged out of the shadow of itself and produced 14 students in the First Grade in the 2023 Uganda Certificate of Education Examination.

The School Headteacher Hajjati Sauda Nakanwagi said that the this is the first time in the history of the Kihihi Town Council based school to get such good grades especially after it was taken over by government two years ago.

Ms Nakanwagi said that the had 50 students in S.4 in 2023 and 14 passed in First Grade, 19 are in Second Grade, 14 are I  Third Grade while 3 are in Fourth Grade, compared 3 in First Grade, 16 in Second Grade, 9 in Third Grade and 4 in Fourth Grade in 2022 Examinations.

The best students include Tumukunde Derick who scored 18 aggregates, Tumwebaze Habibah scored 20 aggregates, Katongole Hafidhu  got 23, Ayebare Duncan scored 25 aggregates, Ainembabazi Diana got 26 and Amutuheire  Murushid scored 27 aggregates.

The Headteacher attributed the good performance to the team work exhibited by the teachers, students and the parents who have worked together to ensure that they get good results.

Ms Nakanwagi thanked the Government of Uganda for the support it has extended to the school by posting there teachers, providing text books, laboratory equipment and computer which have enabled a spirited learning environment that enabled the students to pass.

She also hailed the Founding Body under the Leadership of Kanungu Muslim Supreme Council which established the school and ensured that it was well operated even before the government took it over.
