NEWS– The Police in Kihihi have in their custody 7 suspects who are suspected the to be behind the robberies, bar and house breaking in the Town Council.
The Officer in Charge at Kihihi Police Station Tumukunde Emmanuel and the Officer in Charge of Crime Intelligence Tabaruka John told our reporter that the suspects were arrested last night in an intelligence led operation after many residents claimed that their premises had been broken into by the suspected robbers.
Tabaruka said that a breakthrough was made last night after a prime suspect identified as Ahimbisibwe Dismas after he was found with stolen property today morning and when the Police searched his rented him a lot of stolen property was recovered from there and will be used as exhibits.
Tabaruka said that some of the recovered properties included, televisions, crates of beers, solar panels, house hold properties like beddings, telecommunications dishes among many others.
The OC Station Tumukunde said that a screening exercise will be conducted tomorrow morning where the alleged real culprits will be charged and be taken to court to answers of their acts.
He also said that such operations will continue to be carried out in the entire Town Council and neighbouring areas to ensure that the area is free from robberies.
