NEWS– The benevolent Great Stewards of Hope has inaugurated her 3rd project, the Kinkizi Stewards College, an institution that community tailored courses to offer holistic education to beneficiaries.

The inauguration ceremony took place on April 5th at the Campus in Kihihi Town Council in Kanungu District and was preceded by a Thanksgiving Service led by the Bishop of Diocese of Kinkizi Rt Rev Dan Zoreka.

While speaking as Chief Guest, the  Kinkizi West Member of Parliament Hon James Ruggi Kaberuka lashed at some elements in the community who are bent on sabotaging development which is detrimental to societal advancement and development. Hon Kaberuka thanked the vision bearers for the idea which will transform the area.

Hon. Kaberuka congratulated Directors Great Steward of Hope for being resilient and passionate about the needs of the future generations by imparting on them  knowledge and giving them hope for the future and particularly hailed the main sponsor Mr John Rutheford for his commitment to ensure that the vision and mission of the bearers remain alive.

Earlier, the Great Stewards of Hope Executive Director Honest Natukwasa said that they have been able to start 3 new projects that include Kirima Stewards Primary School with 374 pupils, Kanyantorogo Senior Secondary School with 243 Students and Kinkizi Stewards College which 145 tertiary students and all the institutions belong to the communities.

Kanyantorogo SSS and Kinkizi Stewards College have been fitted with Computers Labaratories and connected to the internet to promote a conducive learning environment. 

Kinkizi Stewards College offers Certificate and Diploma in Agriculture, Tourism and Hospitality, Business Education and Social Work and Administration, and hope to embark on technical education. 

Natukwasa observed that, in trust they have high hopes that they will achieve their objectives and thanked the Donor Community led by John Rutherford from United Kingdom, California and Germany for their great patience and support to the people of Kanungu over the years.

In his written speech John Rutherford observed that Great Stewards of Hope was celebrating an opportunity and starting a journey that will change the community lives and also thanked the vision bearers and partners for keeping hope.

Speaking at the same function Kanungu District LC 5 Chairman Sam Arinaitwe Kajojo said that Kinkizi Stewards College for opening up opportunities to Kanungu residents and thanked God for enabling the celebrations as a milestone  for the people of Kanungu.

Eng Arinaitwe Kajojo said that Great Stewards of Hope Directors have endured harsh conditions, but due to resilience and consistency they have overcome all the backstabbing and celebrated a big milestone which will not leave Kanungu District the same.

He thanked the donors for the source of hope which has planted a seed of development in Kanungu District and Uganda at large and thanked Bishop Dan Zoreka for the prayers that has led to triumphant progress.

He said that the opening of the Kinkizi  Stewards College comes with opportunities of job creation, retaining students in school and support to economic growth of Kanungu District and appealed to the business community to become stakeholders in this journey. 

The Resident District Commissioner,  Ambrose Mwesigye Amanyire delivered a massage of hope, peace and Unity and assured the Great Stewards of Hope of security in what ever they do  because the institution has come to supplement development.

The function was presided over by the Bishop of Diocese of Kinkizi Rt Rev Dan Zoreka assisted by the Archdeacon Kihihi Ven Richard Tumwebaze and the Bishop’s Chaplain Rev Stella Arinaitwe and attended by several Archdeacons, students, parents and invited guests. 

The function was also attended by Kanungu District Education Officer Sunday Charles who observed that there is a great opportunity for Kinkizi Stewards College transforming into a University and this will come with a multiple activities that will provide the community with more opportunities. 

Sunday Charles who is a celebrated educationist said that education is a source of Development and those who have used to their advantage have changed the lives of the people they live with.

During the function, the Board Members led by Hon James Kaberuka were sworn into office to steer the operations of the College.
