NEWS– Great Stewards of Hope has officially rolled out activities to open a new educational institution of higher learning with a a mini launch of the Kinkizi Great Stewards College located in Kihihi Town Council in Kanungu District.
The ceremony that took place on November 11th 2023, at their site new site campus in Kihihi Town Council in Kanungu District attracted many well wishers and prospective students who volunteered to clean up the college compound as the renovations to the exisiting buildings start.
The Executive Director of Great Stewards of Hope, Honest Wilkins Natukwasa said that this was the third project they have launched this year and they hope that the community is bound to benefit a lot.
Other educational institutions being managed by Great Stewards of Hope include Kirima Great Stewards Primary School in Kanungu Town Council and Kanyantorogo Senior Secondary school in Kanyantorogo Town Council.
Natukwasa warned that there should not be any individuals who will claim to own the Great Stewards of Hope projects in future like it has been the case with CHIFCOD and thanked the donor community for not abandoning them despite some disappointments.
Great Stewards of Hope is a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) supporting communities in Western Uganda to adapt and prevent effects of poverty, disease, hunger ignorance and conflict with values of stewardship, honesty, professionalism, teamwork, intergrity, innovation, excellence and equality.
Natukwasa said that the Great Stewards of Hope is driven by a vision to inspire and give hope to futures through acts and virtues of great stewardship with a mission to inspire futures for holistic development through strategic and sustainable interventions in education, welbeing and entrepreneurship for communities in Uganda.
He said that their focus is directed on education, from Nursery to University, in water and sanitation social economic transformation, innovation and creativity coupled with talent capacity building and conflict resolution.
The Donors community was represented at the min launch by Martin Berbei and Julia Challender from the United Kingdom who promised support to the College to make it the best performing facility in the region and thanked the community for not giving up despite the challenges they previously faced at the hands of some selfish individuals.
While speaking at the same event, the District Vice chairperson Kanungu District Mwongyera Henry Tibifunura said that the District will offer all the necessary support to make sure that the college develop faster and thanked Great Stewards of Hope for investing in creating human capital for Kanungu District which will help develop the country.
According to the Kinkizi Great Stewards College Principal, Bindeeba Hilary, the college shall be offering national certificates and national diplomas for the beginning and as the gates will be opened for pioneers students on 5th February 2024.
Bindeeba said that the Collehe shall for the start offer national Diplomas and Certificates in Business Administration and Development, Social Work and Social Administration, Agriculture, Tourism and Hotel Management, Accounting and Finance and Secretarial and Office Management.
