NEWS- The Police in Kisoro District are investigating circumstances under which a 53-year-old man identified as Evarist Nzabarinda was allegedly murdered by his 35 years biological brother named Maniriho Zaire, both residents of Gakoro cell Gasasa ward Bunagana town council Kisoro district.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident saying that it took place yesterday April 3rd at unknown time at Gakoro cell.
Maate explained that the suspect is alleged to have murdered his elder brother and afterwhich he reported himself to Bunagana Police Station where he was arrested and charged accordingly.
It was established that the two have been staying together and alone in the house and with a land conflict for long.
Maate said that the postmortem examination was done, statements of the witnesses recorded and the scene of crime visited, processed and documented by Police O.C station Bunagana and team.
Maate has since urged people to learn to live together in harmony and if they develop any type of differences, they should always utilize the services of local leaders and other relevant offices in place, rather than taking law into their own hands.
Maate said that the suspect is currently being detained at Kisoro Central Police Station and upon the completion of inquiries, will be arraigned before courts of law and answer charges accordingly.
