Kyabenda Headteacher Yafesi Karuhogo Ntungwa

Kyabenda Senior Secondary School located in Kamwenge District is steadily emerging as an academic power house after it posted impressive Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examination results.

According to the 2025 UACE results released last week, Kyabenda Senior Secondary School emerged one of the best performing schools in Kamwenge District and most of the students performed exceptionally well which will enable them join University and Tertiary Institutions of Higher Learning.

The Headteacher, Yafesi Karuhogo Ntungwa named the best student as Akampurira Usitus who scored 18 points in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics while Kakuru Joram and Tushemereirwe Vastine both scored 17 points in the same subject.

Others include Kyizanye Marion, Niwebyoona Carlorine and Yorsia Norman Andrew who scored 14 points and Ainembabazi Eunice and Arinaitwe Derrick who scored 14 points.

Karuhogo disclosed that the school performed well in the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education and 38 students scored between 10 and 18  points which enabled them to get 3 principal passes while 51 scored at least two principal passes which will enable all to join institutions of higher education of their choice.

Karuhogo said that this performance is impressive in the history of Kyabenda Senior Secondary School is found in Kamwenge District and the school manament and staff will strive to maintain and improve it in the coming years.

Kyabenda is a Church of Uganda founded school and it’s a Day and Boarding Mixed O and A Level with a total student population of over 1,250 students as of the records of December 2025.
