
KAMPALA – The Bridge between the employers and employees has been one of the factors affecting the labour force industry in this country besides other known matters to address the unemployment puzzle.
Over the weekend, the French Embassy, Alliance Francais de Kampala, Campus France, French Chamber of Commerce Uganda organized the third edition of that job and education fair at French International School at Lugogo.
The full day event was a delight and physical interaction with those seeking for employment and education opportunities from both Ugandan and French companies in the country together with Campus France for those that intend to go for further education in in France.
In his remarks, the French Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Xavier Sticker said that it was an opportunity to bring together companies, job seekers and partners to connect regarding employment.
” The French language is a path way to the global market since there over 300 million people who speak the language and there are many French companies in Uganda and the job fair is the right space and also studying in France will create that global perception’. Xavier added.
According to Don Patrick Bugingo , the Executive Director, Don Swift, a fast growing recruiting agency noted that the job fair has great opportunities for them since they have been able to directly link with the job seekers and talk to them about the a few aspects employers look out for that are normally under looked.
Apart from the fair, the employers there were also French basic sessions, winning Curriculum Vitae writing, mentorship and many others.
The job fair was common grounds for over 25 companies in the various services such as ; Service and Transport, Energy and Construction, Health and NGO’s Commerce and Agri- food and other sectors.
Some of the companies were; Karveli, Don Swift, Lapaire, Ranchers Finest, Total Energies, SLB , Carrefour among others.
