Speaking to this online publication on Friday 9th February 2024 at his home in Kyamutinganzi cell, Katikamwe ward, Kyabugimbi Town council in Igara East Bushenyi district, Amanya stressed that he is ready to stand with the voters in reminding their leaders what they are supposed to do.

Interestingly, he pointed out that he is coming back on the FDC ticket though he has to first be selected/ elected in the party primaries for the 2026 elections.

“I support development and am ready to work with any leader who brings developmental ideas to the society but these Bushenyi leaders including Michael Mawanda, Katusiime Annet and Hon Gaffa Mbwatekamwa have totally decided to mute while seeing the whole system rotting’, he explained.

His main concern remains education and wonders why Bushenyi district main is ranked 9th in the country yet Bushenyi – Ishaka Municipality is the first stressing worry that in some constituencies, leaders have neglected the education sector.

“We pay taxes, that means we need good services like good roads, good health system, good schools because that’s what our money should do. I really feel absurd to find that we even still have schools here in Kyabugimbi that cannot even produce a Grade 2 result at PLE and leaders cannot try to intervene, know the problem and solve it”, Amanya spoke angrily.

Amanya Andrew is a son to Rev. Pastor Bindeeba Fred and his wife Victor Nakabito. He stood on FDC ticket in the 2021 Parliamentary elections but lost to the incumbent Hon Michael Mawanda Maranga. He holds a degree in Education attained from Kyambogo University.
