The Police in Rukiga District have arrest a 31 year old man identified as Bosco Byaruhanga a resident of Kakamba cell in Kibanda Parish in Kamwezi Sub-county over alleged assaul of 64 year old woman identified as Vastine Zabanita of the same address, leading to her death.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate confirmed that the incident took place ladt night May 22nd when the deceased went outside the house to ease herself and shortly her two young sons Naturinda Amos and Arinda Saul heard her fall down and making alarm.

Maate explained that when the two moved out to help her, the suspect picked a stone and threw it towards them and the boys made an alarm that attracted neighbors, but the suspect took the deceased to his house and continued to assault her before the neighbors could rescue her.
Maate said that the area Chairman Tusiime Enock and other people took the victim who had sustained serious injuries to Kamwezi Health Centre IV for medication and the matter was reported to the Police, but unfortunately the victim was later pronounced dead.
The team of Police Officers from Kamwezi Police Station visited the scene of crime and was documented, and all relevant statements of witnesses were recorded , and the suspect arrested and detained and the body is still at Kamwezi Health Center IV Mortuary pending postmortem examination.
Maate has since called on people to desist from acts of lawlessness, or else they face the long arm of the law and assured that further inquiries are ongoing to establish the motive of this attack.
