NEWS- The Police in Buhweju district are investigating circumstances under which a yet to be identified male adult was found dead on top of harvested beans.

The incident happened on 20th November 2023 and was reported to Police by Tumusiime Geoffrey 43,the vice chairman LCI Rwomushojwa cell in Kajani Town council of Buhweju district.

Facts on ground indicate that on 20th November at around 1Pm, Kebirungi Hilda came from her banana plantation/garden with a bunch of matooke to prepare lunch but as she entered her food store, she found a body with burnt wounds all over on top of her harvested beans. She made an alarm which attracted the neighbors who came and witnessed then reported to police of Kajani.

The scene was visited by a team of detectives and soco from Buhweju police, statements recorded from relevant witnesses and the body taken to Nsiika Health Center IV for postmortem.

The Greater Bushenyi spokesman SSP Martial Tumusiime confirmed the incident to this website stressing that inquiries are still hand.

In a related development, a Rwandan National has been jailed for 3 months over illegal entry to Uganda.

Kisoro Court presided over magistrate grade one His Worship Dismas Muchelule convicted Patrick Munyamana in his 20s with cases of illegally entering the country in August. Court heard that on 15th Aug, 2023, Munyamana entered Uganda and was seen in Nyagashenyi village, Kisoro District leading to his immediate arrest.

The state prosecutor Best Kemigisha Niwagaba welcomed the ruling stressing that for Munyamana to appear in Uganda without valid National ID, passport or entry permit is against the law. Niwagaba noted that the ruling will restrain others who would be having the same mind from such unlawful entries into the Pearl of Africa.

During his ruling on a Monday court session, His Worship Muchelule revealed that did not waste court’s time and had another count in court sentence of 10 months. The Magistrate told court that after serving the two charges concurrently, Munyamana will be handed back to Rwandan authorities, his home country.
