Bushenyi, Uganda– Hon Mawanda Maranga Michael, the Member of Parliament for Igara East and the NRM flag bearer, has firmly dismissed claims made by Gerald Agaba regarding his supposed position as the Chief Coordinator of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) in Western Uganda.
In a media address at his county office in Kitwe Rwentuha, Mawanda stated unequivocally that Agaba’s assertions are “baseless,” asserting that Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chairman of PLU, has not appointed Agaba to any such role.
Additionally, Hon Mawanda clarified the status of Edgar Rwambika, an independent candidate in the upcoming elections for Mitooma District’s Ruhinda County. He emphasized that while Rwambika is indeed a member of PLU, he is contesting as an independent candidate rather than on an official party ticket. Mawanda reiterated that Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has directed all PLU members to run under the NRM ticket.
Mawanda concluded his statement by highlighting the role of Hon Dr Baram Barugahare, the Vice President of PLU for Western Uganda, and urged all Ugandans to actively participate in the forthcoming general elections, stressing the importance of civic engagement.
