NEWS– The Police in Kabale district are investigating circumstances surrounding mysterious death of a 48 year old teacher.
According to ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi Region Police spokesman, the deceased is Musekura Robert, a resident of Kabahesi cell, Buhara sub County in Kabale district.
Maate told the press that Sayuni Livingstone, Resident of Rukore cell, Muyanje ward in Bubare sub county Rubanda district reported the case to authorities that his brother in law Musekura Robert had disappeared.
From then, announcements were made over radio stations to help in tracing for the victim and in the process, his body was found in the waters of river Rwabakazi in Nyakahita cell, Kabale Municipality.
The matter according to Maate was registered at Kabale police station on SD REF: 23/26/01/2024 and the homicide team from Kabale CPS was informed as disappearance, a case made and allocated to the homicide to investigate.
On the 28th January 2024, the body of the victim was seen in the waters of river Rwabakazi and police was informed about it.
The homicide team led by the O/C CID one D/SP Mukama Hakim visited the crime scene and the body retrieved from the water and taken to Kabale regional referral hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
Body was identified by the wife to the deceased Jean Nyiramahoro Musekura.
The Police Public Relations Officer confided to the press that the victim made a will which he left among the properties he left at his in law’s place.
His will read that the world is not his home and that he had enough personal frustration before asking his people to give him a descent burial as he indicated in the will where to burry him among others.
The discovery comes a week after the body of a Church leader from the same district was discovered on the same waters after days of missing.
