NEWS- The Mitooma district council has requested the office of IGG to initiate forensic investigation into the district engineering department for improper usage of one billion shillings Road fund.
This is after the department failed to provide a substantial accountability to the council.
In a special district council held at Mitooma Town council hall on Friday convened by the district speaker Moses Tumwekwatse, the department presented a half-baked report without detailed breakdown.
The council also noticed some extravagancy expenditure on allowances in regard to what the funds were meant for.
According to Bim Douglas the chairperson Mitooma District works committee, they had requested for accountability from the engineering department but all in vain.
Bim stressed that they only gave account of 804 million shillings of the one billion shillings mandated for each district under road fund from the Central government.
