NEWS- Mutara Sub – county has been ranked the poorest performer in the recently released Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) 2023 based on Division One grading in Mitooma district.
According to the Mitooma district’s overall performance shit, Mutara Sub – county registered 133 candidates but only 9 passed in Division I making a percentage of 6.6% passing rate, followed by Kabira Sub – county who registered 180 candidates and only 12 passed in Division One translating to a passing percentage of 6.7%.
The best performers are Mitooma Town council with 118 candidates in division one out of 170 candidates equivalent to 69.4%, Katenga Sub – county with 197 division one candidates out of 489 making 40.2%, Kashenshero Town council had 54 out of 167 candidates with 32.3% and Kiyanga Sub – county in 4th position with 49 candidates in Division One out of 167 making a percentage of 29.3, Bitereko emerged the 5th with 130 out of 466 making it 27.8%.
The best performing schools were Nyakatete Bright Future in Katenga with all 54 candidates in Division one and Mitooma Junior in Mitooma Town council with all 28 candidates in Division one. Others are Happy Angels Katenga who got 44 candidates in Division one equivalent to 88% and Mitooma Central in Mitooma Town council with 48 out of 55 candidates making it 87.2%.
According to the performance shit accessed by the www.informer.co.ug , Rwoburunga Sub – county registered the most failures numbering to 10 followed by Mayanga, Kashenshero, Nyakizinga, Kiyanga, Kabira Sub – county and Rurehe Sub – counties respectively.
Mitooma district had registered 4,559 candidates and 959 passed in Division One, 2,520 in Division Two, 645 in Division Three, 247 in Division Four, 138 failures while 50 did not turn up for the examination. Of the registered candidates, 2,062 were males while 2,497 were females.
According to the results, the percentage pass in Division one this year is 21 % compared to 1,403 candidates (30.2%) out of 4,641 who passed in Division one last year 2022. In 2020, out of 4,028 candidates, only 982 had passed in Division One.
Concerning the dropouts who failed to sit for the examination, 3 out of 93 candidates were from Kigyende with a percentage of 4.8 and 3 others from Rwoburunga 3.2%, 4 out of 168 who had registered in Nyakizinga also missed the examination, 4 out of 180 in Mutara and 7 out of 322 in Mayanga also missed the examination amongst others.
