Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe giving away his daughter

RUKUNGIRI- The North Ankole Diocesan Bishop Rt Rev Alfred Muhoozi has urged couples and young people intending to marry to always prepare themselves in time and endure in their marriage without forgetting placing their trust in God for a lasting union.

He made these remarks today while preaching during the giveaway ceremony (kuhingira) of Ruth Asiimwe the daughter of Bishop Onesimus and Florence Asiimwe of North Kigezi Diocese in Kinyasano Ward Western Division Rukungiri municipality at Makobore High School premises.

Bishop Muhoozi asked Bruce Mugisha and his wife Ruth Ariho Asiimwe to build a marriage that glorifies God because they were both born and raised in god fearing families therefore they should have respect for each other.

Bishop Onesimus and maama Florence Asiimwe praised their daughter for being a God-fearing individual who has consistently shown respect towards her parents and served as a role model to many. He also encouraged the new family members she has joined to love and care for her diligently.

Hon Major Gen Jim Muhwezi the  Minister of Security and his wife Canon Susan Muhwezi who are family friends, encouraged Ruth to place her trust in God for a successful marriage and urged her not to disappoint the congregation that gathered to witness her commitment together with her husband Bruce Mugisha.

Col Edith Nakalema the State House Investors Protection Unit Commander and her husband asked the newly united couple to go and shine in the new world and journey they have started and should put all their trust in God without forgetting a prayer that will enable them to have a successful marriage.

Brian Mugisha the husband to Ruth Ariho is born in Kikagate Isingiro district and is a n employee of Uganda National Roads Authority.

Ruth Ariho Asiimwe holds a bachelor’s degree in human resource management from Makerere university business school where she graduated in 2022 and later worked with Uganda National Roads Authority before securing a job at compassion international.

A well-organized give way ceremony was graced by Gen Henry Tumukunde , Gen Mugisha Mutu the President of Alliance for National Transformation, Dr Kiiza Besigye, All members of Parliament from Rukungiri and outside, religious leaders from all denominations, over five church of Uganda Bishops especially from western Uganda, Rukungiri district Kadhi, high profile government officials, Christians, Educationists  among other guests.
