NEWS– The Police in Rukungiri District are investigating circumstances under which a 45 year man identified as Edson
Byaruhanga, a resident of Ruhira village in Kazindiro Parish in Bugangari Sub county died.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed that the deceased Byaruhanga was today March 5th 2024 discovered unconscious at Kazindiro Trading by bypassers infront of Sarah’s bar by one Owakubariho Aggrey.
Owakubariho rushed to the deceased home and alerted his wife Tumuhirwe Allen, who also informed her father in law Rukanyemera Bernard and Ampaire Justine and others who went to the scene and called Sidi Karerangaro who took a vehicle and transported him to Nyakibale hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival and the body was taken back home.
Maate said that the Police at Bugangari was notified by the area chairperson Ruhindi Twijukye and a case of suspected murder was reported, crime scene was visited and examined documented and statements recorded from relevant witnesses and the body was taken to Rwakabengo Health Centre III Mortuary for postmortem examination.
Maate has since said that inquiries are at hand, and requested whoever may be having clues that can lead the Police in investigations behind his death, should volunteer it so that perpetrators are dealt with accordingly.
The case of suspected murder was reported at Rukungiri Central Police Station under reference number CRB 256/2024 to help in investigations.
