Museveni together with top NRM Secretariat Management Team led by Secretary General Hon Richard Todwong

KAMPALA- President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has held a meeting with the NRM Secretariat Top Management Team led by the Secretary General, Hon Richard Todwong at State House Nakasero in Kampala.

The engagement between the President and the NRM Secretariat Team was insightful and focused on key financial and economic matters critical to the ruling party and national development.

Hon Todwong assured the President about the Party strategic effort by the leadership to improve the people’s livelihoods based on Wealth Creation and commitment to strengthening economic stability and progress as they advance the country’s financial goals in alignment with the NRM’s vision for sustainable development.

Meanwhile the National Resistance Movement is hosting Kenya’s ruling party the United Democratic Alliance delegation for a six-day working visit.

The team led by their Secretary General Senator Hassan Omar was today mo received by his NRM’s counterpart, Hon Richard Todwong and Director of External Affairs Major Awich Pollar.

Secretary General Todwong said the National Resistance Movement and the  United Democratic Alliance are looking forward to deepening bilateral relations and strategic cooperation for the development of the two East African regional Parties. 

The 19-people delegation jetted into the country are expected to participate in various activities including visiting the NRM National Chairman and President Yoweri Museveni as the two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on Kenya-Uganda relations on issues of mutual interests and deepening democracy. 

Hon Todwong revealed that the delegation will also be led to attend the Tarehe sita Celebrations tomorrow in Kyotera district to mark the birth of the people’s army and Uganda’s liberation.

Senator Omar said Uganda’s NRM is a good friend and partner of Kenya in various fields. “We are committed to enhancing the relations in political, economic and social areas,” Sen. Omar said. 

After at the NRM party headquarters meeting at the party headquarters, the delegation was led to the National Leadership Institute (NALI) to study its operation.

“We intend to build a similar institute in Kenya to enhance the ideological training of our UDA cadres to produce ideologically grounded leaders,” Omar said. 

Major Awich Pollar said, the two ruling parties share experiences and best practices and are willing to learn from each other and added that the two political parties share similar missions of transforming the lives of the population and championing east Africa’s political federation.
