The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has expanded his campaign trail to Rwenzori Sub-region where he confirmed that the government will construct a new International Airport and extend the Standard Gauge Railway to Kasese District focused to boost tourism and business operations in the area.

While addressing a big gathering at Nyakasanga Playgrounds in Kasese District, President Museveni noted that due to high tourism traffic in Kasese District and entire Rwenzori Sub-region there is need for additional infrastructural developments including an international Airport to attract more tourists to tourism sites in the area just as the case for railway service on business.

Presidential candidate Museveni told the gathering and confirmed electricity distribution plans to the few unserved areas of Kasese District and water distribution and said that a number of roads in Kasese District are due for reconstruction in massive road infrastructural development plan for Rwenzori Sub-region.

The President said that the roads include Kikorongo – Bwera road, Kasese – Kirembe road, Bundibugyo – Fort Portal road, that will catch up with the ongoing construction works for Mityana – Mubende – Kyenjojo – Kabarore – Fort Portal road whose construction works he promised to expedite with immediate effect.

The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate Museveni however warned leaders against scattered planning as it derails development progress and explained how the NRM prioritization strategy has delivered on major development and socioeconomic transformation initiatives as asked leaders and Kasese District Residents to embrace the same. 

President Museveni has meanwhile instructed the Prime Minister Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja and Attorney General Hon Kiryowa Kiwanuka to address land queries raised by Kasese district leaders and also fast track the implementation of government pledges to the areas Residents and also directed the State House Comptroller Ms Jane Barekye to respond on the issues raised on service delivery and government commitments.

Presidential Candidate Museveni made it categorically clear that the government of Uganda is ready to counter any forms of threats and insecurities from and within the country’s border in Kasese and rallied residents of the area to cherish and protect the prevailing peace and security.

He disclosed to the electorate of Kasese District the importance of peace and stability to national development with reference to previous insecurities in the area that the NRM government ably countered and stopped and enumerated the NRM contributions to Uganda as he rallied the electorate of Kasese District to re-elect the NRM government for yet another term of office for more development and socioeconomic transformation.

President Museveni promised more interventions in health and education services for Kasese district moving forward to add to the 260 government primary schools across Sub counties in the district and equally promised additional health service initiatives on top of the District Hospital, Health Center IVs and IIIs already established at several Sub-counties in the district 

The President reminded the people of Kasese District that it is only the NRM government that has the right diagnosis of Uganda’s development challenges and the right prescription for their cure as witness in the past 40 years of the NRM leadership and explained the need to differentiate between wealth creation and development by the people so as to focus rightly for socioeconomic transformation.

He unpacked the NRM’s dynamic 4 acre model initiative and it’s qualified enterprise sectors that include poultry, diary farming, coffee growing, fish farming, piggery among others and highlighted success stories for implementers of the NRM wealth creation strategies and rallied all residents of Kasese District still living under subsistancehood to emulate the same.

He assured the people of Kasese District of immense job opportunities through wealth creation programs initiated by the NRM government and mentioned job opportunities in commercial agriculture, manufacturing, services and ICT on top of job opportunities in artisanship and skills training as demonstrated by graduates of the presidential zonal Industrial Skilling Hubs 

While speaking at the same event, the NRM second National Vice Chairperson Rt Hon Anita Among tasked the NRM fraternity in Kasese district to scale up grassroot campaign mobilisation, protect the prevailing peace and security in their area and applauded President Museveni for availing Ugx 136 billion to work on River Nyamwamba upgrade.

Meanwhile the National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate Yoweri Kaguta unpacks plans to support tea farmers in Bunyangabu District as he guided them on proper land utilisation for commercial agriculture.

While addressing a mega rally at Kibiito Primary school Playgrounds in Bunyangabo District, President Museveni noted that the Tea prospects by farmers will be attained by leveraging on economies of scale for larger scale farmers with government aid.

President Museveni tasked renowned Tea growers in Bunyangabu District to re-evaluate on their earnings per acre to guide small scale farmers on the profitablity as government plans to inject the planned Ugx 360 billion support for the Tea sector.

Presidential candidate Museveni attributed some delays in infrastructural developments to failure of prioritization by Members of Parliament who charged with the role of allocation of funds.

“The appropriation of funds to non priority sectors like roads, electricity, railway and other economic enablers has gross macro negative implementations to the entire country and has rallied members of Parliament to act with the priority schedule guided by the NRM manifesto,” President Museveni said.

He confirmed reconstruction of several tarmac roads in and through Bunyangabu District and said that Uganda’s poverty eradication strides are significantly reaping off and has rallied the people of Bunyangabu District to intensify their efforts in the proposed viable economic enterprises as listed in the NRM manifesto.

The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate also guided the people of Bunyangabu District on the implementation of the 4 acre model initiative, a dynamic socioeconomic transformation strategy development by the NRM to aid wealth creation for all.

The President also guided on the availability of job opportunities propelled by the NRM in commercial agriculture, manufacturing, services, ICT and Skills as demonstrated by graduates of the presidential zonal Industrial Skilling Hubs.

He also confirmed payment of contractor for Mityana – Mubende – Fort Portal road and warned leaders who misappropriate government funds to non priority areas and also confirmed plans to reconstruct Bundibugyo road in Rwenzori Sub region after securing funds to undertake the planned works 

Candidate Museveni has also promised to further enhance education plans for Bunyangabu District to add to the existing 61 government Primary Schools and 8 government Secondary Schools.

President Museveni reaffirmed the NRM commitment to maintain peace and security in the country and rallied the people of Bunyangabu District to cordially contribute to the same for development and socioeconomic transformation and vote for the NRM party.
