NEWS– Muslims have been urged to continue upholding Islamic holy practices and deeds even after the Holy Month of Ramadhan.
Muslims celebrate Eid al Fitr, the day to mark the end of the Holy month of Ramadhan and they will converge on Wednesday April 10th 2024 at different mosques across the country to hold prayers in commemoration of the day.
In his Eid al Fitr message to Muslims, Sheik Muhammed Isingoma the Kibaale district Kadhi urged Muslims to continue demonstrating the good deeds and behaviors they were exhibiting during the Holy month of Ramadhan.
Sheik Isingoma called on the Muslims to love one another, shun domestic violence and sectarianism to promote peace in their communities.
He advised the Youths to stop wasting time in non profitable ventures like sports betting and other gambling activities, asking the Muslim youths to attain education and embrace hard work for sustainable development.
Sheik Isingoma also asked parents to nurture their children with good morals and avoid marrying off girls at a tender age, warning that the habit violates the Muslim principles and the government laws, adding that the perpetrators will be apprehended and charged.
He further expressed gratitude to President Yoweri Museven for establishing an Islamic bank in accordance with Sharia law and for protecting the property of Muslims in the country. He asked the Muslims to use the Islamic banking system to start up businesses and enhance their house hold incomes.
Sheik Isingoma also asked Muslims to conserve the environment and plant trees at their mosques and homes as part of the Eid celebration activities, asserting that the trees will generate income and address challenges of climate change in the country.
