NEWS- The Police in Bushenyi district are investigating the circumstances under which a 33 year old woman mysteriously died, body found ignored in an incomplete house. The deceased is Nahwera Oliver, a peasant who has been residing in Rwengwe cell, Nyanga ward, Bitooma Town council in Bushenyi district who was found dead on Sunday 28th January 2024 with bruises on the neck, stomach and at the back.

Facts on ground indicate that Oliver Nahwera (the deceased) had supper with her parents on 27th night and moved to town to buy some drink but did not return home until on Monday when she was found dead.

A case file of suspected murder was registered vide Kyamamari police post under reference number 03/28/01/2024 and subsequently to Bushenyi on CRB 079/2024 for police to commence investigations.

Police immediately visited the scene with the homicide team, documented the scene, recorded statements from various witnesses and then retrieved the body to Kampala International University Hospital mortuary Ishaka for postmortem examination.

The Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed the incident to this publication and stressed that Police inquiries into the matter are still at hand to arrest the suspects to their motive.

Relatedly, the police in Mitooma district have commenced a manhunt for the assailant(s) who allegedly killed a 57 year old man.

The deceased is Tukamuheebwa Matia, a resident of Nyabyondo cell, Rwoburunga parish, Rwoburunga sub – county in Mitooma district who was allegedly murdered on the night of 28th January 2024 at unknown time.

It’s reported that on 29th January at around 9am, the body of the deceased was found by Mwebembezi Robert 46, lying under eucalyptus trees a few kilometres from his home with multiple cuts on the head.

The incident was then reported to Mitooma police under reference number SD 6/29/1/2024 and Mitooma CPS under CRB: 061/2024, the scene was visited, documented and statements recorded from some witnesses.

Postmortem examination was carried out by Dr. Taremwa Julius of Mitooma Health Center IV and it established that the cause of death was excessive bleeding as a result of multiple cuts sustained on the head.

The Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed the incident to reporters stressing that inquiries into the matter are still at hand.
