NEWS– The Government analyst from the Directorate of Government analytical laboratory David Mutende has advised traditional herbalists to take their row materials to the laboratory to be tested before they do the final herbal concoctions.
Speaking during a training of herbalists by National drug authority on how to handle and store their concoctions, Mutende said in the test carried out at the laboratory, they have found a lot of fungal infections in most of the herbal concoctions.

Meanwhile the President of Uganda herbalists association who is also a representative of herbalists at the NDA board Jamil Mukwaya Lutakome says the trainings are aimed at preparing the herbalists to produce quality herbal medicines before they operationalize the Traditional and complementary medicine act 2019 that will create a council to regulate the services of herbalists.
