NEWS- The Ntungamo District Health Educator Mr. Nesterio Twesigye called for collective efforts from the public to fight against non-communicable diseases in the district using president Museven’s seven tips on Immunization.
The diseases are Asthma, Tuberculosis, hepatitis B, measles, Rubella among others.
His remarks were ushered in yesterday in engagement meeting, with Village Health Teams, LCs I and II, lay readers among others at Rubaare health centre IV in a move to find all ways how the message of fighting non communicable diseases can be heard in ears of the masses.
The DHE Mr Twesigye urged all Ntungamo people and Ugandans at large to always go for medical checkup even if they sick or not stressing it will help the medics to identify the disease and start on treatment. He added that some people use the health facilities when the fall sick and they find the disease is untreatable only to put them on palliative control to wait for death.
He forwarded a message of stern warning to those cult religions with mithes and misconception over government programs on non-communicable diseases that they will be held accountable.
The assistant District Health Educator and TB advocator Mr. Robert Ochom re-echoed the sentiments on Immunization of non-communicable diseases that if it is done according directives mostly in children it improves health care.
All the participants vowed to disseminate the messages to the masses about the importance of using President’s seven tips on Immunization programs.
